Galey Cottage

Restored to its 1925 form. Built to run on next to nothing.

A sustainability-focused conversion of a Landmarked 1925 cottage into one of Boulder’s premier lodging options. Historic Preservation dictated exposed wood and untouched facades. The Building Department required structural upgrades, fireproof materials, and full ADA accessibility. The client wanted the greenest building in the Colorado Chautauqua. Three mandates, one 1925 cottage, no room to compromise on any of them.
